An accelerated online Bachelor's Degree Completion program, also referred to as a BAC, is designed for students who had to leave college before they could finish getting their degrees. This is a perfect way to continue an education without having to start completely over.

The programs typically involve most of the same degrees as those that run the full length of time necessary to get the diploma. They are considered to be a fast-track to a Bachelor of Science, or BS, degree. Some schools offer focus on particular areas of study, and others offer a broad spectrum and cover two or three subject areas. This allows for more options in career choices.

For the broad area of study, you enter the BAC program with your previously earned credits. Each college has a particular grade point average that is required. You are required to earn credits in each of the areas of study, plus you will have to do some core curriculum. At the University of Texas, this degree is referred to as a Bachelor of Science in University Studies.

At Northeastern University in Boston, their accelerated online Bachelor's Degree Completion program is comprised of fast-track degrees in Health Management, Leadership, Management and Organizational Communication. These can be completed in as little as nine months, with some taking up to a year and a half.

IUOnline, or Immaculata University, offers similar programs. They offer a Bachelor of Arts in four concentrations: Financial Management, Health Care Management, Performance Management, and Organization Dynamics. These courses are seven weeks long. Immaculata places a lot of focus on professional writing and research, and for that reason a previous course in English Composition is required.

The University of Bridgeport in Connecticut offers a Dental Hygiene B.S. Online. This is an 8-week accelerated course that prepares a student for licensing examinations and careers as an educator, clinician, administrator and more.

There are many other online universities that offer an accelerated online Bachelor's Degree Completion program. This is just a sampling of what is available to you as far as schools and areas of study.
