Can You Get One Online?
First, let's go over what an online bachelor degree is. Actually, most people refer to it as that, but it is more specifically called a bachelor's degree (possessive). But that's trivial. It also often goes by the name of post-graduate, or postgraduate degree. It is an undergraduate academic degree awarded for a course of study or major in a particular field.
They normally take around three or four years to complete, but can at times take as much as six years (yikes!). Bachelor's include studies such as Bachelor's of Music, Bachelor's of Philosophy and Bachelor's of Civil Law. And you can get these, or at least prepare for them in a fashion, on the Internet with available online degree programs from online colleges and universities. With an online bachelor degree, you can work at your own pace.
NOTE: You will want to check the credentials of an online university and make sure they are accredited, and better yet, go with a good know name like University of Phoenix or DeVry Institute of Technology (they prepare you for the further education).
To get a Bachelor's degree, you will have to keep a good grade point average to be able to stay in the program. The most common degrees of this type today are Bachelor's of Science, which would apply to professionals (nursing degrees, business, etc) and the Bachelor's of Arts, which would apply to academic studies (humanities, natural and social sciences, etc.).
You can also get a Bachelor's of Economics which would apply to, well, economics, and a Bachelor's of Engineering or Applied Science, both of which encompass a lot of subfields and a Bachelor of Commerce, an undergraduate degree in business management, accounting and economic fields.
But, don't let all this overwhelm you. You start with step one. You find out which direction you want to go career-wise, then learn what courses you would need to take to work your way up to that online bachelor degree. Once you have it under your belt, or shall we say 'on the wall', you'll be the wonder of your friends when you tell them you got your college degree online. :)
